A new update just dropped! This time, I added some more core systems, and with this update, I think the core gameplay is somewhat complete. It’s not as fun as it could be, mainly because I didn’t get the time yet to focus on adding more content and balancing the existing one (so a lot of things can feel imbalanced).

The new core features that were added are

  • Remade the combat system (again), this time to shift towards a more real-time and idle approach. The previous iteration was bad, and I am glad I got feedback from the community as being “a carpal syndrome simulator”. Now each weapon has a default attack rate (seconds per attack), which also introduces new play styles (swords have 1.7s/attack, daggers 1s/attaack, hammers 3s/attack). In the future, different skills and items will also increase/decrease this, which will allow for a more emergent gameplay.
  • Added skill check encounters (positive inside towns) and negative (in the forest), which if picked, it will “roll a random nuber” with a certain success threshold, and if it passes, you get the positive outcome, and if fails, you get the negative one. Not much content is added right now here, and the balance might be a bit off for the option (yes, singular) that is in the game right now.

The focus going forward will be on gathering feedback and ideas from the community in order to get new content into the game (items, skills, enemies, encounters) and balance things out, to get a much more enjoyable gameplay.
